Romano's In The News

Seriously, we don’t like to brag, but we’ve had a few brushes with fame. It all started when President Bill Clinton’s Secret Service detail stopped in and took a few Strombolis back to Air Force One. Between that, and Jerry Lewis pulling up outside in his limo, and a few more than a handful of television spots, we thought we had our fair share of press until Herr’s Foods stopped by one day.

Romano’s was one of 1,000 entries in Herr’s Flavored by Philly Contest. We were honored to be selected as one of three finalists, with Herr’s creating our Special Hot Stromboli flavored chip, sold in WaWa’s nationwide and local grocery stores. Winning the contest was an unforgettable moment. It gave us the chance to share the story of our founder, Nazzereno Romano, who first named the Stromboli sandwich in 1950—a proud legacy that continues to this day.
